isENBIS - the ENBIS Local Network in Israel
The isENBIS Mission
We adopted the ENBIS mission statements:
· Foster and facilitate the application and understanding of statistical methods to the benefit of Israeli business and industry
· Provide a forum for the dynamic exchange of ideas and facilitate networking among statistical practitioners (a statistical practitioner is any person using statistical methods whether formally trained or not)
· Nurture interactions and professional development of statistical practitioners regionally and internationally
The founding team
· Dr. Shuki Dror - Department of Industrial Engineering and Management, Ort Braude College
· Prof. Ron S. Kenett - KPA Ltd. and University of Torino
· Prof. David M. Steinberg - Department of Statistics and Operations Research, School of Mathematical Sciences, Tel Aviv University
· Dr. Irad E. Ben-Gal - Department of Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Tel Aviv University
· Alex Korenev - Hewlett-Packard Company Indigo Division
The Advisory Committee
· The Advisory Committee will help the isENBIS foundation team and it's executive committee (to be formed) achieve the isENBIS mission
· The Advisory Committee will consist of senior industry leaders, all with valuable long-term industry relationships
· The Advisory Committee will advise on policies, programs, strategies and actions that will promote relationships between academia and industry
The isENBIS Annual conference
· isENBIS is proud to announce it's first annual conference in the Tel Aviv area, on November 11th, 2008.
· This 1-day conference will focus on data mining issues
· The meeting is between 15:00 and 18:00 at the Air Force House in Herzelia
· SAS Israel will sponsor the event so that participation will be free
The Knowledge Exchange Program
· Members of the isENBIS network will have the opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience in the implementation of statistical tools in their organizations, by benchmark visits to other organizations.
